Temporary closure of Jockey Club Stanley Windsurfing Centre (“the Clubhouse”)

In order to facilitate the holding of the Dragon Boat Race and related activities at the Stanley Main Beach, Stanley on the Tuen Ng Festival, the Clubhouse will be temporarily closed on Friday, 3 June 2022).

Notice

Re-open of Jockey Club Stanley Windsurfing Centre

Following the Government announcement on 14 April 2022 about “Government suitably relaxes social distancing measures”, the Jockey Club Stanley Windsurfing Centre (“the Clubhouse”) will be Re-opened on 21 April 2021. However, all users and visitors of the Clubhouse shall follow the requirements of “Vaccine Pass” and the special measures listed below until further notice:

                 a. Upon arriving the Clubhouse, all users and visitors must:

                       i. scan the “LeaveHomeSafe” QR code;

                       ii. fill in and sign up on the health declaration form;

                      iii. go through temperature checks at the Clubhouse’s office;

               b. Any person within the premises of the Clubhouse is required to wear a mask except when having a shower or consuming a drink where reasonably necessary; and

                c. Maximum of 4 people are allowed to use the changing room at the same time.

 

Furthermore, in order to reduce the risk of the spread of the COVID-19, the following infection control arrangement will be applied to the facilities in the Clubhouse;

Alcohol-based handrub will be provided in the Clubhouse;

Cleaning measures will be stepped up at the venue;

Keep social distancing between users of at least 1.5 metres by opening alternate showering cubicles only;

Water fountain will be temporary suspended;

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, include fever, malaise, dry cough and shortness of breath, please STOP using facilities in the Clubhouse and consult a doctor immediately;

The staff of the Association will take the initiative to check whether the users or visitors of the Clubhouse have followed the above regulations and measures. If any person is found not to comply, the staff of the Association may ask the person concerned to leave the premises of the Clubhouse.

 

The Sub-Committee will continue to monitor the situation closely and review the arrangements in a timely manner. We hope that all users and visitors of the Clubhouse would follow the above measures and working together to defeat the epidemic.

Notice to Members

 In response to the recent announcement made by HKSAR Government about the closure of all gazetted beaches, the Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong reminds all members to follow all relevant epidemic prevention regulations and measures, including wearing masks and avoiding group gatherings when accessing, transporting or using windsurfing equipment, whether you are in the  “Jockey Club Stanley Windsurfing Centre” which located at the Stanley Main Beach or the storing facility at the fleets or public places, so as to reduce the chances of virus transmission.

WAHK Office special work arrangement

In light of the deteriorating epidemic situation and the increasing number of confirmed cases and preliminary confirmed cases in the Olympic House, the Association will implement the following special work arrangements from 24 February, 2022 until further notice: –

1) The WAHK office will be temporarily closed;

2) WAHK Staff is encouraged to work from home to maintain necessary services;

We will continue to closely monitor the development of the epidemic situation and review the arrangements in place from time to time with a view to making suitable adjustments. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

However, all users and visitors of the Clubhouse shall follow the special measures listed below until further notice:

1)Any person within the Clubhouse is required to wear a mask before and after exercise except when having a shower;

With the tremendous performance and progress made in the past few years, windsurfing was one of the first batch of sports granted target sport status by the Hong Kong Sports Development Board in 1991.
